APPLICATION OF ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORK (ANN) FOR PREDICTION OF DRAG COEFFICIENT OF AXISYMMETRIC BOATTAIL MODELS

Using longitudinal grooves has been proven to be an effective method for reducing drag on an axisymmetric boattail mode. In this study, a 3-layer ANN is used to predict the drag force of the model as the parameters of the groove change. The accurate values (determined by Ansys Fluent) show a difference of less than 2%, confirming the reliability of the artificial neural network used.
