A METHOD FOR EVALUATING AIRCRAFT DEPENDENCIES USING THE CLOSEST POINT OF APPROACH METHODOLOGY TO SUPPORT ATM OPERATIONS

This paper provides a methodology for estimating the Closest Point of Approach-CPA that characterizes a potential conflict in ATM. This system performs the trajectories propagations, the time and distance at CPA, the CPA sensitivity analysis, and returns a sorted list of interacting vehicles, improving the new ATC decision-making tools, and the enhanced situational awareness for pilot and ATC.
