DESIGN OF A HIGH ENTHALPY HYPERSONIC NOZZLE FOR “GHIBLI” PLASMA WIND TUNNEL

This paper presents a new design methodology for hypersonic nozzles for high-enthalpy wind tunnels. The method consists of an iterative optimization procedure based on the Newton-Raphson method, using a direct design approach in weak coupling with a proprietary CFD solver, for the complete treatment of thermo-chemical non-equilibrium conditions.
