INVESTIGATION ON AERODYNAMIC DESIGN OF VTOL AIRCRAFT PROPELLER

A series of airfoils for VTOL propeller are optimized, and the lift-to-drag ratio are improved significantly in a wide range of lift coefficient. Then, propellers with different number of blade are optimized at hovering condition. It is concluded that the FM are improved by 2.64%, 0.36%, 2.84%, with 4-bladed, 5-bladed and 6-bladed, respectively.
