04.2 - Aerostructures Design, Structural Dynamics, AeroelasticityGUST LOAD ALLEVIATION IN A SCALED UAV DEMONSTRATORA. Herwig¹, M. Haupt¹, T. Brack¹, J. Bustamante¹, S. Heimbs¹; ¹Cluster of Excellence SE²A – Techniche Universität Braunschweig, Germany The feasibility of an active and passive gust load alleviation (GLA) approach for flexible wings is assessed in a scaled flight model. The active GLA uses flaps to cancel out eigenmodes. The passive GLA uses a non-linear structural deformation of the wing box forming a flared hinge. The similitude is assessed by static tests and the natural frequencies measured in ground vibration tests. |
