LONG-WAVE INSTABILITY OF AIRCRAFT WAKE VORTEX UNDER SHEAR CROSSWIND

In this paper, the long-wave instability of the aircraft wake vortex under crosswind condition is deduced using linear stability analysis method. Theoretical analysis and numerical experiments show that the shear wind reduce the growth rate of the instability and make the vortex filament incline additionally along the crosswind gradient.
