CONJUGATED HEAT TRANSFER SIMULATION OF BUOYANCY-INDUCED FLOW AND HEAT TRANSFER MECHANISMS IN A COMPRESSOR CAVITY

M. Jian¹, Y. Xiao¹, X. Cheng¹, W. Dong¹; ¹Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China

This study combines conjugate heat transfer simulation with unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes to investigate the flow and heat transfer mechanisms in a rotating compressor cavity under centrifugal buoyancy-induced convection. Furthermore, the Proper Orthogonal Decomposition method elucidates the impact of rotational Reynolds number, buoyancy parameter, and Rossby number on the flow field.
