This paper proposes delegating airspace and segregating traffic at high-density, multi-airport systems according to aircraft speed as opposed to the destination airport, with potential gains in terms of throughput. The proposed approach is analyzed, using a simulation of hypothetical scenarios, in terms of throughput, trajectory flexibility and traffic complexity.
