A new hybrid dynamic programming algorithm for trajectory optimization is proposed.  The application of this approach is exemplified by ascent trajectory optimization of an aerospace  plane. The proposed algorithm makes systematically possible to obtain numerical solutions to achieve the minimum fuel climb to Low-Earth-Orbit under complicated constraints.
