The aerospace/defence industries are currently transforming from being predominately product manufacturers, to suppliers of operational capability through products & services. This paper examines some of the challenges manufacturers face in transforming themselves into “intelligent support suppliers”, particularly focusing on the implications for OEM engineering functions and capabilities.
