This PhD, supported by RMIT University and Boeing Research & Technology, explores a novel approach to solving the problem of improving aircraft composite joint design. This research develops novel design solutions for aerospace fibre polymer composite joints by characterizing and mimicking key structures found in evolutionary optimised joints in Nature.
