DEVELOPMENT OF A LONG RANGE AIRBORNE DOPPLER LIDAR

JAXA is developing a Doppler LIDAR for the turbulence detection. Flight experiments demonstrated that a trial model was able to measure wind speed at an approximately 8.7 km range. The next model was already developed. We have a plan to demonstrate at high speed and high altitude in 2010.
