The Contra Rotating Open Rotor (CROR) offers a potential of 20% fuel burn reduction relative to classical turbofan engines in service today. The paper will describe how FEM/CFD/CAA-based numerical tools can be configured towards the analysis of performance, noise and vibration levels of CROR concepts.
