ANALYTIC DESCRIPTION OF THE NOISE RADIATION FROM SINGLE- AND CONTRA-ROTATING PROPELLERS

Analytical expressions are presented for the radiation of noise from single- and contra-rotating propellers. These are used to assess which parameters have the largest effect on the noise radiation efficiency. It is shown how the mathematical model enables an exact extrapolation of near-field noise data to the far field.
