Thiele, Technical University of Munich, Germany; ¹German Aerospace Center, Germany A sequential process to efficiently generate mid-fidelity aerodynamic models of eVTOL aircraft is established and applied to a tilt-wing configuration similar to the Airbus A³ Vahana. Using design of experiment and a mid-fidelity numerical simulation (DUST) reduces the effort for aerodynamic data generation. These data are fit into a reduced-order coefficient model using stepwise regression. |
