HEAT TRANSFER ENHANCEMENT BY SUSPENDED PARTICLES IN A TURBULENT SHEARLESS FLOW

The present work investigates fluid-particle thermal interaction in a shearless turbulent mixing by means of direct numerical simulations. Particles are assumed to have sub-Kolmogorov size so that the point-particle paradigm can be used. We determine the dependence of the Nusselt number from the particle inertia, parametrized the the Stokes and thermal Stokes numbers.
