09 - Air Transport System EfficiencyREDUCED TRANSMISSION RISKS FOR PASSENGER OPERATIONS DURING COVID-19 PANDEMICM. Schultz, Universität der Bundeswehr München, Germany; M. Soolaki, University of Westminster, United Kingdom; O. Michler, Dresden University of Technology, Germany; E. Itoh, University of Tokyo, Japan The current pandemic situation requires major changes to normal passenger handling procedures and passengers must maintain a certain distance when boarding and disembarking. Simulation results exhibit that an optimized passenger handling (seat allocation and boarding/ disembarkation sequences) can reduce the boarding/ disembarkation times significantly (40%) at a low level of transmission risk. |
