A.H.R. Lamkin¹, A. Yildirim¹, J.R.R.A. Martins¹; ¹University of Michigan, United States

This work builds upon recent efforts in aeropropulsive design optimization to consider a fully coupled high bypass turbofan configuration. We employ a novel coupling strategy to study interactions between the propulsion sub-systems using a mixed-fidelity framework. The results include a fully coupled aeropropulsive analysis, single point, and multi point gradient-based optimization study.
