ARRIVING AT CERTIFIABLE NOVEL AIRLINER USING LIQUID HYDROGEN & EFFICIENCY METRICS

R.K. Nangia, Nangia, United Kingdom; L. Hyde, Consulting, United Kingdom

Environmental considerations are focussing on using LH2 for future airliners. However, LH2 is hazardous, safety and certification issues dominate design. We cover several possible configurations before proposing a twin fuselage "Gondola" arrangement that isolates LH2 from passengers and crew during all flight phases, meeting the regulations. We show Efficiency metrics. rn
