VISCOUS CORRECTION FOR HIGH ORDER IMMERSED INTERFACE METHOD FOR COMPRESSIBLE TRANSONIC FLOWS

L.P. Velandia Luis¹, P. Celso Greco Junior¹; ¹University of Sao Paulo, Brazil

An immersed interface method (IIM) is presented, for the analysis of complex geometriesrnwithin a two dimensional domain inside a compressible flow, The analysis is based in thernassumption of inviscid flow, however characteristics presented in viscous flows are addingrnwith a viscous correction method. For the time and space integration the methods ofrnRunge Kutta and compact finite difference are used respectively, also a filter was appliedrnto stabilize the solution.rnA rapid viscous correction method will be applied to the interaction between the boundaryrnlayer and the shock wave of airfoils, due that the boundary layer thickness ahead the shockrnmodifies the position and magnitude of the shock.rnThe correction method uses the boundary layer equations in two dimensions for an inviscidrnflow and the solution is getting through an iterative process. The aim of this work is tornfind numerical results that are similar to the experimental data available in literature.
