In this paper, the aerodynamic effect of variable wingspan on gliding and flapping flight is studied by Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes method (RANS). The dynamic mesh method on nested grids is adopted to simulate the complex morphing wing. This research can provide a reference for the design of flapping wing aircraft with variable wingspan.
