The stability of a hypersonic boundary layer over a flat plate to wall blowing-suction with the effect of a long shallow cavity located downstream of the synchronization point is investigated. The results indicate this is an efficient way to stabilize the second-mode. With depth of the cavity increases, the efficiency of damping second mode improved until flow separation appear in the cavity.
