TOTAL TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENTS IN WATER INJECTION AND PRE-COMPRESSOR COOLING TECHNOLOGY

Water Injection Pre-Compressor Cooling(WIPCC) technique is an effective way to achieve high mach number flight. While the air temperature can hardly be measured due to contamination of droplets. To solve this problem, a probe rake with corresponding calibration and test method. A computational fluid dynamic model (CFD) of the flow is also conducted to get a deep understanding. Comparison of simulation results with experimental data shows good predicted trends.
