Pitching motion has great impact on the aerodynamic performance of dragonfly-like wing’s hovering motion.Various pitching amplitudes have been numerically investigated. When pitching amplitude equals 45°, the tandem wing will obtain the optimal vertical force. The research in this paper is helpful to understand the flight mechanism of dragonflies.
