BENEFIT ANALYSIS OF AIR REFUELING IN ULTRA LONG ROUTE AIRLINER OPERATION

To illustrate the benefit of applying air refueling system on current airliners, this article designed two concepts of aircraft: ultra long range concept and medium long range concept. After building the direct model and refueling model of flight profile, the results show that medium range airliner can save up to 16% of block fuel with refueling system compared with ultra long range airliner.
