FLIGHT TEST OF AN ADVANCED HYBRID-LAMINAR-FLOW-CONTROL (HLFC) SYSTEM ON AN A320 VERTICAL TAIL PLANE

Within the European FP7 project AFLoNext a consortium of thirteen partners from industry and research establishments all across Europe collaborated over a period of 5 years in the design, manufacture and flight test a HLFC-leading edge segment. This HLFC-System was flight tested the first time in Europe very successfully on the VTP of the DLR-A320 ATRA. The System operated according to expectations in an active as well as passive mode very successfully.
