Pott-Pollenske, Germany The landing gear and the high lift system represent major airframe noise sources of conventional transport aircraft. Within the EU research project AFLoNext such retro-fit means for Landing gear and flap side edge noise reduction were flight tested on the DLR Airbus A320. The results show that a noise reduction of up to 3 dB can be achieved with such means on the existing aircraft fleet |
