REVIEW OF PREDICTIVE METHODS FOR CAPTURING ONSET OF DAMAGE AND INITIAL DELAMINATION IN CARBON FIBRE REINFORCED POLYMER LAMINATES SUBJECT TO IMPACT

Empirical and numerical testing methodologies were explored to further understand the onset of damage propagation and delamination in aerospace grade carbon fiber reinforced composites. Trade-offs between two finite element candidate algorithms were employed for cross-validation and verification with respect to the physical experimentation.
