NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL DISTURBANCES EVOLUTION IN SUPERSONIC FLOW OVER A WAVY SURFACE

A. Novikov, TsAGI, MIPT, Russia; A. Fedorov, MIPT, Russia

To avoid early laminar-turbulent transition in high-speed boundary layer, passive laminar flow control concept of wavy wall stabilization (WWS) may be used. It was proposed by the authors and confirmed by 2D numerical simulations and experiments. In this work, we study the WWS concept using 3D numerical simulations of disturbances evolution through the near-wall flow over a grooved wavy wall.
