NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF A BIO-INSPIRED FLEXIBLE FLAPPING-WING BASED ON EXPERIMENTAL MEASURED DEFORMATION

The aerodynamic characteristics of a flexible flapping-wing MAV were numerically simulated using ANSYS Fluent. The deformation pattern derived from a stereovision experiment was used as a prescribed input to the solver. The results give new insights into flexible wing aerodynamic and the flow structure around it.
