DESIGN OPTIMIZATION OF MULTIROTOR DRONES IN FORWARD FLIGHT

This paper proposes a surrogate-based multidisciplinary design optimization approach for multirotor drones. Most of the sizing models are built using surrogate modelling techniques but also scaling laws for some of the drone components. This approach has been used to size a set of multirotor drones with some typical requirements and has been compared with existing industrial drones.
