BIONIC LIGHT-WEIGHT GRID SURFACE WING STRUCTURE DESIGN FOR A SOLAR-POWERED UAV

A cellular-based evolutionary topology optimization scheme over wing surface is proposed for an ultralight surface structure design. A hierarchical optimization strategy of composite grid surface structure based on Ground Structure Method (GSM) and Lindemayer system (or map L system) is proposed. At last a serious comparisons are proposed to validate the effectiveness of this hybrid bionic approach and indicate the weight loss by steering the stiffener paths.
