The FLEXOP project develops design methods for gust load suppression and active suppression of flutter, which is tested in-flight with the help of an on-purpose designed technology demonstrator. The demonstrator is a 7m wingspan UAV equipped with a jet engine and three different sets of wings- the baseline (stiff) wing, the aeroelastically tailored wing and a flexible wing with the flutter suppression mechanism. This paper discusses the initial flight test results of the demonstrator with the baseline wing. The results include the comparison of estimated and actual aerodynamic performance of the aircraft.
