Stability and laminar-turbulent transition (LTT) of the boundary layer flow on a thin airfoil of the parabolic arc shape at the freestream Mach number 3 and flow parameters at altitude about 20 km (standard atmosphere) are considered. Given results of linear analysis, an attempt is made to apply the well-developed theory of homogeneous and isotropic turbulence to describe the receptivity problem.
