MULTIPOINT OPTIMIZATION OF TRANSONIC NATURAL LAMINAR FLOW NACELLES

A numeric optimization platform is established for the design of transonic axisymmetric natural laminar flow (NLF) nacelle on civil aircrafts. Single-point and two-point optimizations are carried out and 36% chord length of laminar flow with 2.1 counts (1count=0.0001) of drag reduction is obtained. The contradiction between the length of laminar flow and wave drag is found and discussed.
