DYNAMIC RESPONSE AND DAMAGE OF THE FAN BLADES DURING UAV INGESTION INTO AN AERO-ENGINE

The research provides an insight into the dynamic response of fan blades of a typical aero-engine during UAV ingestion and evaluate the damage severity by means of numerical simulation. Results show the damage of blades is dependent on the impact orientation and location of UAV, and different damage patterns are presented after UAV and bird strike.
