APPLICATION OF ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS FOR EFFICIENT RELIABILITY-BASED DESIGN OPTIMIZATION

This paper presents an efficient approach for uncertainty quantification, which can be used inrnreliability-based design optimization of complex systems, such as an aircraft. The constraintrnsatisfaction is formulated as a classification problem, where an artificial neural network is used tornpredict the corresponding probabilities. The proposed approach provides an alternative of the existingrntechniques, and it is tested regarding its accuracy and efficiency.
