APPLICATION OF DEVELOPMENT ASSURANCE METHODOLOGIES TO ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM (EECS)

The increased level of complexity introduced by modern Electronic Engine Control System in turn impacts the challenges of engine certification. The regulatory authorities have highlighted concerns about the possibility of development errors causing to engine failure conditions. This paper presents approaches and practical experience for the engine Type Certificate applicant that adopted development assurance methodologies.
