EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON FLOW CHARACTERISTICS IN COMPRESSOR ACOUSTIC-CAVITY RESONANCE TEST FACILITY BY PIV

Z.-B. Zhang¹, M.-S. Yang¹, H. Wu¹, M. Wang¹; ¹Shenyang Engine Research Institute, China

Flow fields were measured by Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) in a compressor acoustic-Cavity resonance test facility at different mass flow conditions. The steady and unsteady flow characteristics of velocity and vorticity fields were compared. The results show that the shedding vortex is formed after the first stage disk, and the flow pattern alters as the variation of mass flow conditions.
