Providing efficient and effective training solutions for fighter pilots is becoming increasingly challenging. To address this challenge, this paper discusses how artificial intelligence can be used to build intelligent, synthetic allies and adversaries for pilots to interact with in complex, simulated air combat scenarios. Such simulations could be embedded in, or integrated with fighter aircraft.
