COST AND BENEFIT OF SCHEDULED STRUCTURAL HEALTH MONITORING FOR COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT

Aiding the introduction of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) in commercial aviation, the work at hand presents a holistic analysis of the financial impact of SHM. Expanding on previous research, operational and technological boundary conditions are considered, including SHM receiver operator characteristics, aircraft fatigue behavior and a representative transport network.
