CONCEPTUAL STUDY OF THE DIGITAL HYDRAULIC ACTUATOR WITH PROPORTIONAL CONTROL FOR FLIGHT CONTROL ACTUATION SYSTEMS

This paper presents a new configuration of the hydraulic flight control actuation system where a Digital Hydraulic Actuator, DHA, is combined with proportional control with aims to reduce energy consumption. Different layout combinations are investigated for a delta-canard fighter using simulation. With the right design the energy consumption can be reduced compared to a traditional system.
