TURBULENCE MODEL ASSESSMENT OF THE SEPARATED FLOW IN THE STANFORD DIFFUSER

M. Bonnici¹, S. Prince¹, K. Garry¹; ¹Cranfield University, United Kingdom

A study is presented to identify the best turbulence modelling approach to predict flow separation in diffusers.rnResults show that linear eddy-viscosity models fail to predict flows in highly asymmetric diffusers due to their rnover-sensitivity to transverse pressure gradients.
