EXPERIMENTAL INVESTIGATION ON SUPERSONIC BOUNDARY LAYER TRANSITION INDUCED BY SINGLE/MULTI- ROUGHNESS ELEMENTS

The characteristics of single/multi- roughness elements induced transitions are compared in a Ma 2.95 supersonic flat-plate boundary layer. NPLS technique is adopted to obtain fine coherent structures. The paper confirms that well designed roughness can delay laminar-turbulent transition.
