TOWARDS INDUSTRIAL LARGE EDDY SIMULATION AND AERO-ACOUSTIC NOISE COMPUTATION WITH THE HIGH-ORDER FR/CPR METHOD

Z.J. Wang, United States

The proliferation of high-order methods capable of handling complex geometries has significantly reduced the cost of large eddy simulation (LES) comparing with 1st or 2nd order methods. In this talk, we present recent progress which has enabled industrial LES with the flux reconstruction (FR)/correction procedure via reconstruction (CPR) method. Due to its high-order accuracy, the FR/CPR method has also been used successfully to compute aero-acoustic noise. We conclude the talk with several demonstration cases, and possible future work.
