Investigations about modern fighter aircraft design have suggested that mounting the engine intakes above the aircraft fuselage get some advantages, in comparison to more conventional positions. In sum, this unconventional position of the intake represents a viable configuration option for aircraft that require only transonic and subsonic speeds, such as air-to-ground military aircraft
