NONLINEAR MODEL PREDICTIVE CONTROL FOR OPTIMAL AIRCRAFT SEQUENCING

The problem of sequencing arriving aircraft and calculating optimal trajectories is solved using a primal decomposition approach. A linear approximation of the solution for a region around the nominal case is calculated to mitigate the effect of disturbances on the solution by applying a nonlinear model predictive control. The method is validated using simulations under realistic uncertainties.
