EVALUATION OF WIND TUNNEL WALL BOUNDARY-LAYER CONTROL FOR 2-D HIGH-LIFT AERODYNAMIC AND AEROACOUSTIC TESTING

F.M. Catalano, Aeronautical Engineering Dept. University of São Paulo , Brazil; L.T.L. Pereira, University of São Paulo , Brazil

A suction system was developed e evaluated for high lift three element 2-D wing testing in a closed wall wind tunnel. Pressure distribution wake mapping were carried out in order to evaluate the system capacity to assure 2-D flow for aerodynamic and aeroacoustic testing. Results showed that 2-D can be achieved with suction at upper surface at strips places and its is critical for realistic results
