THE STUDIES ON LOW-NOISE LAMINAR WING REGIONAL AIRCRAFT

N.A. Pushchin, TsAGI, Russia

The paper describes investigation of aerodynamic design peculiarities on low noise regional aircraft with natural laminar flow wing. The first key feature is low-sweep (?1/4=15°) wing operating at high speed (M~0.78). The second key feature is over-wing-trailing-edge engines arrangement which significantly reduces community fan noise and gives an ability to use ultra-high bypass ratio engines. A set of CFD and wind tunnel results are presented.
