ASSESSMENT OF THE AERODYNAMICS AND AEROELASTICITY OF FLAPPING WING USING LINEARIZED COMPUTATIONAL METHOD

Aerodynamics and aeroelasticity of flapping wing are analyzed to compare the dynamics of rigid and flexible flapping wing in forward flight. Geometry, kinematics and aerodynamics of flapping wing are modeled for a 3D rigid thin wing in flapping and pitching. Aeroelastic interaction is developed to model the influence of wing flexibility on aeroelastic stability and aerodynamic performance.
